The Trefonen Hill Walk began back in 1988 and has every year since successfully raised money for charities from both home and abroad. The brainchild of local farmers Helen and Roger Francis from New Barns Farm the weekend offers walks of different lengths and a range of ever changing events. Events which have over the years included motor cycle trials, fun runs, horse riding, duck races, scarecrows, exhibitions, music and dance and as always the ever popular jungle walk for kids and adults alike! Helen's hard work was rewarded in 2015 with an award from the Queen for services to charity and her community. This years event (2016) raised £10.500 shared between Medicins Sans Frontieres and the Midlands Air Ambulance. The slideshow below shows some of the participants and wonderful views over the years.
