Can you help us:

In the last 40 years the UK has lost 60% of its wildlife. In 2019 it was reported that at least 40% of our wildlife is in decline and 15% at risk of extinction. The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has a 25 year plan and aims to provide 500,000 hectares of additional wildlife habitat. As part of this plan, in August 2020 five local authorities began piloting Local Nature Recovery Strategies. In January, Trefonen WI members discussed an idea for a campaign from the National WI: protect your nature space to create wildlife friendly communities.

According to the National Trust, rare wildlife has thrived during lockdown. Perhaps this is the moment to ensure we don't lose it.
When you are out and about it’s time to note – and snap if possible – what you see, where and when. We’ll tell you how to share that with us.
